Understanding your Revenue Model

All businesses built on Skara have the option to launch their websites and applications with any of the two pricing models:

  1. Free Forever: Your subscribers can watch your content for free. All they have to do is create their accounts on your streaming app.
  2. Premium: Your subscribers pay you to access your content.

Both plans have their place in organizations of different types.

Free Forever is ideal for:

  • Businesses using Skara to provide an additional service. Example: Educational institutions offering video classes for students. Since schools charge a fee anyway, they can bundle the subscription fee along with their other fees and avoid an additional paywall for students.
  • Businesses using Skara for internal training. Example: Corporations offering internal training sessions to their employees. Adding a paywall in such an app does not make sense.
  • Businesses/Individuals planning to monetize videos using sponsorships and advertisements. Example: Information or Entertainment channels can give their audience free content and capitalize on huge incoming traffic. Instead of charging the subscribers, They can charge sponsors and brands for showing their ads between videos.
Bonus: We are rolling out a dedicated advertisement feature soon which would allow you to show video and display ads on your branded websites.

Premium is ideal for:

  1. Businesses/Individuals using Skara to capitalize on their willing-to-pay audience. Example: Trainers and coaches offer their services primarily through videos and have a client base who is willing to pay to watch their content.
  2. Businesses/Individuals whose primary business is video creation and invest in videos. Example: Production houses with their own video library like movies and with subscribers willing to pay for their content.
  3. Businesses/Individuals expanding their existing business to the video+online domains. Example: Organisations in the faith sphere with a huge following who wish to scale their reach beyond physical meetings can start producing videos and monetize those by adding their subscription plans
