Branding

In this section, you can add your business’ brand assets. We will go through each of them, one-by-one.

1. Brand NameThis is already set during creating your business. This is the name of the business/of your streaming service. It cannot modified.
2. Website TitleA website title is a short phrase that appears at the top of a web browser window or tab, identifying the currently viewed web pages.
3. Meta descriptionA meta description informs and interests users with a short, relevant summary of what a particular page is about.
4. LogoUpload a png/svg/jpeg/jpg image of your logo. For better result and size optimisation, the image should be in 1:1 aspect ration of 300 pixels. The maximum file size is limited at 50 kilobytes.
5. FaviconUpload an image of 16x16 pixels in png/svg/jpeg/jpg format. A favicon is the icon used on web browsers to represent a website or a web page.
6. Background ImageUpload a landscape-mode image in either png/svg/jpg/jpeg format. This is the image which will show on your website or app’s login and register screen background. The file size should not exceed 1MB.
7. OG(Open Graph)ImageUpload an image in png/svg/jpg/jpeg format not exceeding 1MB as your business or brand’s Open Graph image. It is the image that is displayed on social media accounts when you or someone else post a link to your website.

Appearance

When you click on Appearance, you land on the Themes page. This section contains multiple color themes for you to choose from and apply to your video streaming app and website. Each of these themes have their corresponding light and dark modes.

How to apply a Theme?

For first-timers, when you land on the Themes page, while completing the mandatory steps, you will that the section within Applied Theme is empty. This means no themes are selected yet. To apply a theme:

• Click on one of the themes listed within Available Themes
• Click on Apply

How to preview a theme before applying?

• If you want to preview a Theme before applying, click on the Preview this theme button
• A new tab will open up with a pre-launched website with the theme you previewed
• You can look at what the button would look like and the interaction and hover effects
• When you wish to apply that theme, come back to the browser tab containing your Skara business dashboard
• Click on the theme to select it
• Click on Apply

How to change theme on a launched website and app?

If you already have a website or app launched with a particular theme, after following the steps above, make sure to go and re-launch your website from Launch>Website, after changing to a different theme from the Appearance section.

Unless you re-launch, your selected theme will not reflect on the live website.

For apps, you will have to request a new build.

Banners

Banners occupy the top section/hero section of your streaming app or website.

Unless you manually come to this section (Customisation>Banners) and add it, your app and website will not contain any banner

Banners are good for highlight content and attracting more eyes from your subscribers. These are ideal for new releases or content which you do not want your subscribers to miss out.

How to add banners?

When you click on Banners from the Customisation sub-menu, you land on the banner page, where you can feature videos on your banner.

Note: Only published movies/videos and episodes can be featured on your banner.

You can see that the first column is named ‘Order’. This means, the video you add on your banner with Order numbered 1, will show as the first banner. Same goes for 2, 3,4 and 5.

At any point of time, you can add just 5 banners to your app and website.

Adding banners

• Click on Add Video
• All published videos/movies/episodes will be listed
• You can search for a particular video/movie/episode or select it from the list
• Click on the button on the Video/Movie/Episode that says Add

The video/movie/episode will be added accordingly

Changing banners

• Click on the edit icon next to the video added on the banner
• Click on the Add button next to video/movie/episode from the published list/search and find the one you want in the banner space
• The newly added video/movie/episode will replace the old one

How to remove banners

• Click on the Delete icon next to the video added on the banner
• A confirmation message will pop up
• If you want to delete this banner, click on Yes. If no, then click on No.
