How to Start Accepting Payments From My Subscribers?

To start accepting payments from your subscribers, you will have to enable Premium for your Skara business. We will discuss the steps you would need to follow to successfully enable premium here:

Note: You must already have an account on any of the payment gateway supported by Skara. Currently, we support Razorpay accounts and you can link it seamlessly with Skara.

Enable Premium

  1. Toggle the button next to ‘Enable Premium’
  2. You will land on the Payment gateway integration section

Integrating Payment Gateway to Skara

  1. Click on Connect under Razorpay
  2. Enter the Live API key provided by Razorpay associated with your business
  3. Enter the API Secret provided by Razorpay associated with your business. These details are required for you to create your subscription plans easily and directly from Skara
  4. Click on Submit and we will integrate your Razorpay account with your Skara account

Setting up Default Monetisation Settings

In this section, there are three settings that will be applicable across all plans you create. Those are:

  1. Currency: This is the currency you will accept payments in and display the subscription amount in on your video streaming app
  2. Grace Period (in days): Your subscribers might miss out on paying their subscription fee. While by default, doing so will log them out of your video app and they cannot access it unless they subscribe again, you have the option to give them a grace period. This is simply an extension of the subscription payment due date and they can continue accessing your content for those additional days. If you want to give a grace period across your plans, set them here in days.

If you do not want to give a grace period, you can enter 0 as the number of days.3. Trial Period (in days): This is ideal for you to give free access to your first-time subscribers. During this period, they can access the full features of your streaming app at par with paid subscribers. Once the trial period is over, they will have to subscribe to your subscription plan to access your content.

If you do not want to give a trial period, you can enter 0 as the number of days.

A trial period is a great tool to give your subscribers a taste of your application’s experience before making them commit to it. Usually, businesses give anything between 14 days to 30 days of free trial.
