Launching your Website
To launch your streaming website with Skara, navigate to the Website settings page from the left navigation menu Launch>Website
Note: You must complete setting up your business to launch your website for the first time.
When at the Website Settings page, you will have the options to launch your website on a subdomain provided by Skara or on a domain you own.
- To launch it on a Skara subdomain
You can check the status of your launch at the bottom of the screen under the section List of Deployments. When your website is being launched, the status is shown as Queued. When your website is successfully launched, the status changes to Succeeded
- You can go to the launched website by clicking the subdomain name or typing it on your browser search
- Click on the Launch Website button
- Give a unique name to this launch. While this name does not matter in the general order of things, it gives us a way to troubleshoot in case you have an issue while launching your website. You can name the launch as you wish. For convenience, you can use the date or month as the name.
- Click on Launch
- A message will popup notifying you that the website is being launched
- To launch it on a domain you own
To add your own domain and launch your streaming website on it, follow the steps:
Note: It may take up to a few hours for the DNS changes to take effect.In case you face any problem while launching the website on your custom domain, you can opt for the assisted launch, where our tech team member assists you for a successful launch.
- Enter the domain you own on the Domain name input box
- Click on Add
- The domain is added to your business
- Now visit the admin console of your domain registrar (the website from where you purchased the domain from)
- Navigate to the DNS settings of your domain registrar
- For GoDaddy click here
- For Namecheap click here
- Create one ‘A’ record
- Copy the values available on the screen or from here:Domain: @Type: AValue: 76.76.21.21
- Paste these values on the recently created ‘A’ Record on your domain registrar’s DNS settings
- Click on Verify Domain
- Once verified successfully, the website will live on the domain you added.
- Deleting a Domain
Deleting a domain is an irreversible step. Doing this would mean your subscribers will not be able to access your website or app on this domain anymore. So, kindly perform this action with extreme caution.
- Click on the dropdown next to the domain name you wish to delete
- It will reveal the Delete Domain button
- A confirmation message with a warning will show up
- Click on Delete to delete the domain if you really want that. Click on Cancel to keep the domain
